Studio portrait coming soon.
From one studio in Guelph to a training center in Grand Rapids.
Ahmé opened her first studio — Pilates in Guelph, Ontario — in 2000. She later relocated to Grand Rapids and launched Pilates in East, which grew into the studio you know today as Bovée Pilates.
The Grand Rapids studio has now been part of the community for nineteen years, while Ahmé's own movement and teaching career spans roughly three decades on the floor — two distinct numbers for two distinct things: the studio's age, and a lifetime of practice.
She found Pilates while navigating her own struggles with anxiety and depression, and calls it "her lifeline." That's why the method weaves in Positive Body Psychology alongside the classical work — and why Ahmé co-founded the studio with her husband as a place built on partnership, not pressure.
"Your body isn't a problem to fix. It's a partner to work with."
A method for every body, at every age.
Classical Pilates roots, modern movement science, and Positive Body Psychology — taught so that a first-timer in their seventies and a seasoned athlete both leave feeling stronger and more themselves.
Fourteen instructors — all trained by Ahmé.
Every instructor on our floor learned the method directly from Ahmé Bovée. Same standard, same care, both studios.
Michigan's only Balanced Body® Authorized Training Center.
The same expertise that trains instructors from across the country is in every class and private session we teach.
